Born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, Karla M. Reyes is a proud Boricua whose heritage is an integral part of who she is, both personally and professionally. Karla earned her bachelor’s degree in Journalism, with a minor in Legal Studies, from the University of Central Florida in 2005. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law in 2009. A firm believer that exceptional trial lawyers never stop learning, she returned to Stetson to earn her Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Trial Advocacy in 2021, further refining the courtroom skills that have defined her career.
For more than 15 years, Karla dedicated her career to public service as a criminal defense attorney, representing individuals facing the immense power and resources of the government in both state and federal courts. As a public defender, she tried more than 90 jury trials to verdict, litigated countless pretrial motions, and developed a reputation for embracing the challenges of high-stakes litigation. Her years in public defense reinforced a conviction that continues to guide her work: every person deserves a voice, a fierce advocate, and a meaningful opportunity to be heard.
Karla subsequently brought her extensive trial experience to the field of personal injury law, where she continued fighting for individuals and families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. At Morgan & Morgan, she secured settlements in more than 215 cases, generating approximately $2.7 million in attorney’s fees in just 17 months. Her transition from criminal defense to civil litigation reflects a consistent commitment to standing up for individuals against powerful institutions and interests.
Now, as a member of LaBovick Law Group’s Warriors for Justice, Karla brings nearly two decades of litigation experience, a relentless work ethic, and an unwavering commitment to those she represents. She thrives in the courtroom, welcomes complex legal challenges, and believes that preparation, perseverance, and the courage to fight are the hallmarks of exceptional advocacy.
For Karla, being a Warrior for Justice is more than a title. It is the continuation of a career devoted to standing beside people when the stakes are highest, ensuring their voices are heard, their rights are protected, and their stories matter. A proud daughter of Puerto Rico, Karla believes that being a warrior means never forgetting where you come from, who you stand for, or why you fight.
