I was raised in an Irish catholic family, one of six children. Both of my parents worked, my mother as a teacher and my father as an attorney. At a very young age my parents ingrained in me the importance of hard work. I always knew growing up that I wanted to be an attorney…just like my father. My father was compassionate, hardworking and incredibly smart. He was always the first person to lend a hand. I wanted to be just like him.
My journey toward becoming an attorney began in Geneva, New York where I obtained my undergraduate degree from William Smith College in political science and economics. Thereafter, I attended the University of Maine School of Law where I obtained my juris doctorate. While in law school I knew my career would involve public service.
I felt passionate about helping those in need, no matter the situation. Very quickly I learned working with individuals suffering from physical and mental disabilities was a passion of mine. I have been representing disabled individuals in front of the social security administration since graduating from law school in 2011.
As an attorney I am in a unique position to help those in desperate situations. Not only am I able to fight to obtain benefits for my clients, but I am also able to hold the federal government accountable to pay my clients the benefits they are owed. What drives me everyday is knowing the constant daily struggles my clients go through. It is that knowledge that pushes me to fight zealously every day for my clients. Representing people with disabilities is my passion.
In my spare time, I love spending time with my husband, Patrick, and two children, Harper and Theo. I grew up in Syracuse, New York…go Orange! When my husband said lets move to warmer weather I jumped at the chance. Being in Florida allows us the ability to adventure year- round. We love exploring new places, hiking, kayaking, and yes even skiing. My two children are my heart and soul. I hope to instill in them values similar to what my parents taught me, values of respect, responsibility and love.
