Wellington
Located southwest of West Palm Beach, the Village of Wellington heralds itself as one of the “most successfully crafted communities in Palm Beach County.” The village’s namesake, Charles Oliver Wellington, purchased several tracts of marshland in 1951 that would eventually become Wellington. Initially intended only for agricultural use, what was once the world’s largest strawberry patch is now a “premier South Florida community” that was officially chartered on December 31, 1995. In addition to offering residents and tourists a number of shopping, dining, and entertainment options, Wellington is also famous for its equestrian events. Every year, the Village of Wellington hosts the Winter Equestrian Festival and the National Horse Show.
