Jupiter
Located roughly 15 miles north of downtown West Palm Beach in northeastern Palm Beach County, the Town of Jupiter has a population of around 60,000 residents. According to the town’s Web site, Jupiter has progressed from a pioneer village for anglers and animal trappers in the early 1900s to one of the “most desired” places to live in Florida. Residents and visitors alike enjoy the town’s beautiful year round weather, and close proximity to Atlantic Ocean beaches. In addition, two Major League Baseball teams, the Florida Marlins and the St. Louis Cardinals, have their spring training facilities in Jupiter.

Traffic Accidents
Although the Town of Jupiter historically has a below average fatal accident ratio as compared to the Florida average, the town does have a higher than normal amount of fatal accidents caused by drunken drivers (per 100,000 population). In 2008, drunk drivers were the cause of 92 accidents, or approximately 17.9 percent of all crashes. In total, 514 vehicle crashes occurred in the Town of Jupiter.
