Driving Safety

Practicing safe habits when driving can help prevent accidents, road rage and other unwanted driving problems. A driver can maintain composure when behind the wheel, in addition to making the appropriate decisions while in the driver’s seat. Use the following driver safety guidelines when operating a vehicle:

  • Do not tail gate behind the car in front of you.
  • Always use directional signals when changing lanes and making turns.
  • Obey the traffic flow; allow others to pass, instead of making them trail you too closely.
  • Watch the Speed limit and use the appropriate speed limit, taking into consideration traffic and weather conditions.
  • Use side mirrors and rearview mirrors while driving, and preparing for your next move.
  • Consider enrolling in a defensive driving course to become a better driver.
